Reduce your Jargon Footprint and Help Good Causes
We aim to keep things clear and buzzword free, and we also like to support charities. So we've combined the two by launching our Jargon Offset campaign.
Its the business equivalent of a swearbox. Every time one of our people gets caught using non-essential jargon, TLAs or buzzwords in their written work they get fined an amount, in our case £1.
Every month we add up the fines and donate the money to our chosen charity, Help for Heroes (link opens in new window).
Join us
As a company or team- to join in simply start a group in your organisation, agree a donation structure and keep us informed on your progress. It just needs someone to keep track of offences and give gentle reminders to pay up. You could make it more fun by circulating the best (or worst) examples.
As an individual- if you want to do some self-assessment on your own Jargon Footprint and donate accordingly, you are most welcome.
We've set up a Just Giving page (opens in a new window) to collect and track donations, which to maximise GiftAid need to come from the individuals concerned.
Or do your own thing
You can join in with us or set up your own Jargon Offset initiative, choosing your own charity. If you do, please let us know so we can take some credit. If you use JustGiving simply include Jargon Offset in the page title!
